Discover the Breton marshes of the Vendée

The Breton marshes of the Vendée region cover 45,000 hectares of canals, wet meadows and polders that are unique in France! During your camping vacations in Saint Jean de Monts, you will discover the “étiers” which drain the marsh, these small channels by which the salt marshes and the sea communicate. Streams, ditches and old salt pans form the landscape, sheltering a very rich fauna (otters, genets, coypu, eels, frogs, birds of prey, waders and palmipeds).

There are many routes that will take you through the almost deserted countryside and allow you to discover the villages of the marshes and ports. With family, friends or as a couple, the Breton marshes of the Vendée can be discovered on foot on the GR8 or by bike along the cycle paths.
